This Privacy Policy describes how Cláudia Abreu ("we", "us", or "our") handles your information when you use the Next Budget iOS application ("the App").
1. Information We Collect
Next Budget is designed with privacy in mind. We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:
Financial data you enter — plans, activities, cycles, notes, and related settings you create are stored locally on your device using Realm and, if you enable sync, in Firebase Firestore for your sync group.
Location (optional) — if you grant location permission, the App may attach an approximate location (coordinates and a short place description) to a transaction when you choose to save it. This can also apply when logging a transaction from Apple Watch. Location is off by default until you allow it; you can turn off automatic location saving in Settings and skip location for individual transactions. We do not use location for advertising or tracking across other apps or websites.
Account information — if you use sync, you may sign in with Apple or Google (via Firebase Authentication). Without sync, the App works fully offline and no account is required. Display name, email, and avatar preferences you provide for sync profiles are stored for that purpose.
App usage analytics — we use Firebase Analytics to collect usage data (for example screens visited and feature interactions). Events are associated with an anonymous device ID or, after sign-in, your Firebase user ID — not your name or email in Analytics event parameters. Analytics may include a flag that a transaction had location attached, but not the coordinates themselves.
Crash and diagnostic data — we use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and related technical diagnostics (for example stack traces, app version, and device type) so we can fix bugs and improve stability.
Purchase status — whether you have purchased Next Budget Pro is stored locally via StoreKit and UserDefaults. We do not store payment card details.
2. How We Use Your Information
To provide and improve the App's features.
To help you remember where a transaction took place when you choose to save location with it.
To sync and share your data (including any location you attached to transactions) across devices and with members of a sync group you join (only if you enable sync).
To restore your purchase across reinstalls.
To understand how users interact with the App in aggregate.
To diagnose crashes and reliability issues.
3. Data Storage and Security
Your financial data (and any optional location attached to transactions) is stored:
Locally on your device (Realm database), including optional Apple Watch and widget companions that share data via an App Group on your devices.
In Firebase Firestore if you enable the sync feature. Firebase services are operated by Google and governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Third-Party Services
The App integrates the following third-party services:
Firebase (Google) — Authentication, Firestore, Analytics, and Crashlytics. Firebase Privacy.
Sign in with Apple / Google Sign-In — optional account providers when you enable sync. Subject to Apple's and Google's respective privacy policies.
